  • Rosén von Rosenstein has been characterized as the Father of Medicine in Sweden and is internationally well-known for his ”Instructions on Children’s Diseases” translated into several languages. As professor of medicine at Uppsala he collected his anatomical lectures into a book, Compendium Anatomicum, illustrated with eight copperplates, one of which is a folding plate of the circulatory system depicted in the form of a man as a tree with its system of branches.
