Vasorum lymphaticorum corporis humani historia et iconographia
-
Author: MASCAGNI, Paulo (1755–1815)
This most magnificent atlas of the lymphatic vessels is a great work that for long was accepted as a classic. It paved the way for progress in anatomy, physiology, and clinical medicine, since fifty percent of the lymphatic vessels now known were discovered by Mascagni. The spectacular plates form a landmark in anatomical illustration. Mascagni persuaded the artist and engraver Ciro Santi of Bologna to move to Siena to do the job for him.
