The Expressions of the Emotions in Man and Animals
-
Author: DARWIN, Charles (1809-1882)
With this book Darwin founded the study of ethology (animal behavior) and communication theory. A new era of animal psychology started with Darwin’s Expressions of the Emotions and it remains an important contribution to its subject. The book is also one of the first to be illustrated with photographs. 28 of the photographs were taken by the Swedish-born photographer Oscar Rejlander, who posed for many of them himself (as did his wife).
