The fundus

  • Beiträge zur Pathologie des Auges -
  • Author: JAEGER, Eduard von (1818–1884)
  • Jaeger’s ophthalmoscopic atlas showing the varying appearances of the fundus in health and disease are brilliant illustrations from Jaeger’s own meticulous paintings, considered the finest ophthalmoscopic plates produced in the nineteenth century. The chromolithographed plates were reproduced from Jaeger’s own fundus paintings, each of which required from 20 to 50 sittings from two to three hours each, which might run to over one hundred hours per painting.
